Test & Evaluation / Software Test Manager (ISR / C5ISR Programs)


Lead the Validation of Mission-Critical Systems

Ensure the systems defending national security are tested, trusted, and mission-ready.

Cambridge Automation is seeking a Test & Evaluation / Software Test Manager to lead end-to-end T&E activities across ISR and C5ISR programs. You will oversee system and software testing, ensuring platforms meet functional, performance, cybersecurity, and operational requirements in highly demanding environments.

This is not just QA oversight, this is mission-level validation leadership, where your work ensures systems perform when it matters most.

You’ll operate at the intersection of:


• Test & Evaluation (DT/OT) and verification & validation (V&V)

• Software testing and automation frameworks

• ISR / C5ISR system integration

• Cybersecurity compliance and mission readiness


What You’ll Do


Test Strategy & Planning


• Develop comprehensive T&E strategies (TEMP, Master Test Plans)

• Define test objectives, success criteria, and evaluation methodologies

• Align testing with program milestones and acquisition phases (DT/OT)

• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and results


Test Execution & Program Management


• Lead developmental, integration, system, and operational testing

• Manage test schedules, environments, and resource allocation

• Oversee defect tracking, resolution, and regression testing

• Deliver accurate and timely reporting of test results and risks


Software Testing & Automation


• Implement automated and manual testing frameworks

• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines

• Validate software functionality, performance, and reliability

• Ensure adherence to secure development and testing practices


System Integration & Validation


• Support integration testing across ISR and C5ISR systems

• Validate interoperability across software, hardware, and networks

• Support field testing, exercises, and operational demonstrations

• Ensure systems meet mission and operational requirements


Cybersecurity & Compliance Testing


• Conduct security testing and vulnerability assessments

• Ensure compliance with RMF, STIGs, and NIST 800-53

• Support ATO testing and accreditation processes

• Validate system security configurations and controls


Leadership & Team Management


• Lead test engineers, QA analysts, and technical teams

• Assign work, manage priorities, and track performance

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance

• Drive collaboration across engineering and operational teams


Risk, Quality & Stakeholder Engagement


• Identify and mitigate risks related to system performance and testing

• Maintain quality metrics, test coverage, and defect trends

• Interface with Government PMs, CORs, and T&E organizations

• Lead test readiness reviews, briefings, and executive updates


What You Bring


Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph (Required)

• 8–12+ years of experience in Test & Evaluation, QA, or software testing

• Experience supporting DoD or federal programs

• Strong knowledge of DT/OT processes, TEMP development, and V&V

• Experience with software testing tools and methodologies

• Knowledge of RMF, NIST, and STIG cybersecurity frameworks

• Proven experience leading test teams and managing test programs

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

• U.S. Citizenship required


Preferred


• Master’s degree in a related field

• Certifications (ISTQB, CSTE, DAWIA T&E)

• Experience with automated testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.)

• Experience integrating testing within DevSecOps pipelines

• Experience supporting ISR, C5ISR, or intelligence systems

• Experience in classified or operational test environments


Compensation & Benefits


Salary Range: $155,000 – $200,000+ annually

(Commensurate with experience, clearance, and mission scope)

Work Environment


• Location: APG, MD or (NIWC Pacific / NAWCWD/ NAVWAR), CA sites 

• On-site / hybrid based on mission requirements

• Up to 25% travel (CONUS/OCONUS)

• Work in classified labs, test ranges, and operational environments
